BBC: Ford agrees Volvo sale to Geely

BBC News – Ford agrees Volvo sale to Geely.

This is as good as the end of the line for the storied automaker. Ford wasted nearly a decade futzing around before allowing its Volvo division to design its large-car platforms to the exclusion of other divisions. The Fusion and Taurus which are wowing the critics and selling well in this depressed markets are Volvo designs with Detroit only drawing the body. That generally inexplicable not-a-minivan-honest Flex still appears to me as little more than an American-scale 245.

What isn’t clear is what IP shall be included.

Anyway, I guess I’ll have to hope the Renault Logan MCV really does come to the other NAFTA countries to get my neo-240 jones on.
