I do not yet know how I am getting a vehicle from, say, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador to Keflavík, Reykjanesbær, Iceland where I could ferry to Scrabster, Thurso in Scotland. Once in Britain, you can drive to Siberia, or China …

Playing with this idea, I elected to take a Toyota FJ55 Land Cruiser on the trip. The current express-processing wait for a new application for a U.S. Passport is five months. The standard processing time is eight months.

If you provide one of these outfits who restore them with an FJ55 and get the full treatment including chassis reinforcement, new pan, paint rewire, modern engine and transmission … it goes on … they’ll get it back to you in sixteen-to-twenty weeks.
