web synergy

Sunday, 3 September, 2006

A nearly forgotten short subject from 1979 gets a new life on the web. It features one of the most dramatic tracking shots in the history of film. The topic is obvious. The scenario you see is accurate, excepting the car used was a Mercedes 300E, and the Ferrari-sourced audio was edited and placed later. While not entirely safe, he isn’t traveling as quickly as the screaming engine implies.

Upon its premiere, the filmaker was arrested by summoned police on the spot. Given the nature of the offence and the his stature as an artist, he was subjected to a fine similar to a one-time speeding charge, around ff1000, but sources vary.

Just follow the instructions. More info is everywhere on this, but the combo I like.
