Don Kirschner protege, lead singer of The Archies, jingle master and Sunset Sound denizen, Ron Dante is not only still alive (I have repeatedly heard otherwise.) but attempt to cash in on his experience by touring. At the tender age of 61 no less.

That means he hung out at the Brill Building, built a reputation and modest career then recorded his most remembered song, Sugar Sugar, all before 24. That ain’t too bad.

Mind you, if he’s coming back he should be coming back as a producer of aseptic but not insulting pop songs, but I don’t make those decisions.
